Article Processing Charge (APC)

Open Access Policy and Article Processing Charges (APC)

Dermatology Practical & Conceptual is a fully open access journal. In open access publishing, the full texts of published articles are freely available to readers worldwide without delay or subscription. The journal does not apply any Article Processing Charges (APC) upon acceptance or publication.

However, to support the editorial and technical management of submissions, a submission fee is required (see below). An optional Fast Processing Service is also available for authors who wish to accelerate online publication.

Submission Fee Details

Starting September 1, 2025, a non-refundable Submission Fee of €30 (VAT included) is required for each manuscript submitted to Dermatology Practical & Conceptual.

  • The fee must be paid during the online submission process.
  • Only credit card payments are accepted.
  • It is the responsibility of the corresponding author to ensure that the payment is completed, either personally or through their institution.

This submission fee is mandatory for all submissions, regardless of the outcome of the editorial process. If the article is declined at any stage, or if the authors decide to withdraw their manuscript, the fee will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Manuscripts will not enter editorial processing until the payment has been received by the Publisher.

Publication Queue

Once accepted, articles are placed in the Accepted Article Queue. Placement in this queue does not guarantee inclusion in the next immediate issue. Articles are scheduled for publication based on editorial planning and issue availability.

Optional Fast Processing Service

Authors may request the Fast Processing Service, which guarantees “online first” publication on the Dermatology Practical & Conceptual website. This provides an official URL for citation purposes before the full issue is published.

The fee for this optional service is €430 (VAT included) and can be paid via PayPal or credit card at the following link: Fast Processing – DPC.

Withdrawal Policy

Authors retain the right to withdraw their manuscript at any stage prior to publication. To do so, the corresponding author must send a formal request to contactdpcj@mattiolihealth.com, clearly stating the reason for the withdrawal.

Please note that the submission fee is non-refundable, whether the manuscript is rejected or voluntarily withdrawn.
